Before you buy a business
Request the last 12 months of sales, GST returns and a simple profit figure. A genuine seller can show these; be cautious of vague 'high potential' claims with no records.
Is it the licence, stock, equipment, staff, lease and goodwill — or only some? Get the inclusions in writing before agreeing a price.
For a shop or restaurant, the remaining lease term and transferability, plus valid trade/FSSAI licences, often matter more than the fit-out.
A short due-diligence check by a CA (available under our Services) can save you from buying hidden liabilities. Worth the small fee on any real deal.
